I don’t know why I even bother with the market during June & July. With my portfolio allocated to 50% cash, 25% long (BBRY, CPL & CNX) and 25% short (TZA & DUST), the account balance barely changes from day to day. Trying to catch the next move is becoming ever more difficult. I am up 0.5% for the day, thanks to DUST and may be on the way to my first profitable June ever. Nevertheless, I’m just not a good summer trader.
My stops are in and I am avoiding the urge to micromanage my positions. If I’m right, the gains will take care of themselves. If I’m wrong, the stops will do their job. I will sell longs on a big rally and sell my short ETFs on a big drop. Either may happen. Someday I will learn from the smart money and spend summers far away from the market.
